Lauren Johnson-Norris has served Democrats in Orange County for the last three years as the elected South Vice Chair of the Democratic Party of Orange County. As a party officer, she advises the Chair regarding important political issues in Orange County and helps elect Democrats in South Orange County. Lauren has participated in dozens of interviews with candidates for endorsement and has drafted many resolutions in support of issues involving women's rights, climate change, and issues facing marginalized people.
Under Lauren's leadership, the DPOC created its first endorsement process for electing Judicial Officers in Orange County and helped elect more Democrats to judicial office in 2022 than ever before. Lauren is highly regarded by Central Committee members as a thoughtful and knowledgable public servant, who has provided a steadying force to the Central Committee during her term.
Passionate about protecting our Democratic gains and advancing Democratic policies that impact Orange County residents, Lauren also serves as an elected Assembly Delegate to the State Democratic Party. She was also elected as the top vote-getter amongst candidates to serve on the California Democratic Party's Executive Board in 2022. Lauren would be honored to continue to serve on the Democratic Party of Orange County's Central Committee to represent Orange County's Democrats.
Lauren lives in Irvine with her husband, two daughters, two Labrador Retrievers, and two rescue cats. When she is not seeking justice in the community, she enjoys walking Irvine’s open space trails and cheering on her daughters at their soccer games.
Getting Democrats elected is the most important issue facing
the DPOC because Democrats support:
Lauren is an attorney who represents children and families in the juvenile courts and on appeal, and serves the most vulnerable children in our state
